Hashim Welfare Hospital
For over 20 years, Hashim Welfare Hospital has been providing patients with access to life-changing treatment and care. Based in the small village of Pindi Hashim in North Pakistan, the facility was built with the support of fundraising from HWHA and remains our charity’s core project.
The hospital is registered with local and national government bodies, and regularly holds medical camps and medical screening services, as well as providing staff and resources for disaster relief efforts.
Hashim Welfare Hospital was founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to high-quality medical care, and prioritises assisting those experiencing poverty and disadvantage. We are hugely proud of the growth that has taken place since work at the hospital first commenced.

Current services
Upon opening in 2003, the hospital initially focused on providing cataract surgery and general health clinics due to the low-cost, life-changing nature of cataract procedures. Services have since grown organically to meet the most pressing patient needs, with 6 clinics currently in place.

Diagnostics
In 2010 a small extension was built, creating space in the hospital for an operating theatre and diagnostics block. Due to an increasingly urgent need for additional capacity, HWHA began a new extension project in 2020. Follow the link below to learn more about this ongoing project and ways to support our progress.

The team
The hospital began operating with only a small team of permanent staff including nurses, a hospital manager, and auxiliary staff, whilst bringing in surgeons and consultants for regular clinics. Today, Hashim Welfare Hospital is supported by nearly fifty full and part-time staff members.
